Tough to classify this book under one heading making it somewhat non-classifiable. It’s non-fiction that seems like it’s got to be fiction. It’s semi autobiographical by design, running a gamut of humor, musical musings and personal life experiences universal to most. There are stories filled with exciting, somewhat unbelievable accountable moments in the gambling world. Slot machines to be more precise, cuddled by funny stories describing the unbelievable journey of a very positive gambling experience. Even if gambling isn’t your thing, this book is still a fantasy romp with wit, riddles, puzzles, fun facts, quotes, tips, idiosyncrasies and historical accounts of some of our most famous forefathers, poets, scientists, actors, musicians, writers and Beatle fanatics in all walks of life. As explained in the reading, it’s not a ‘how-to’ book but rather a ‘what actually happened’ as the continuous wins and the cash started to roll in. He describes it as “Ferris Bueller” meets “Christmas Story” in a casino. It could easily be screenplayed into a movie with a huge comedic twist. Father, grandfather, Peter Pan syndrome, multi-instrumentalist Buffalo Music Hall of Fame musician, Emmy Award co-participant, studio owner, rock band leader, instrument teacher, songwriter, singer, mentor, all around good humble guy and now Author, “Only” Frank Pusateri tells you all about it in his own language and speak ease, making few apologies for misquotes, innuendos and other misinterpreted spoilages. Have some fun and take the journey with him as he relives some very fulfilling times few have had the opportunity to experience. Surrounded by friends and family, tip ready waitresses, ‘groupies’ and wanna be’s, he tells the stories they all witnessed, inch by inch, tale by tale. Too much fun! They’ve all asked to have some rub off on them. Maybe some will rub off on you. Certainly worth the read but needs to be re-read to capture its true essence. There’s more going on than you think.
